protection
When I go out on my motorbike for a trail ride I end up wearing umpteen layers of protective clothing. Layers of kevlar, macralon and Goretex, all designed to protect me from the weather and my lack of riding ability. But the protection I like best is that people don't see me. I mean they physically see me, I don't become invisible, but they don't see me the person. Instead they just see a biker, whatever their stereotype of a biker might be. And I am free to play along; my stature grows, I can be braver than I might normally be, attract attention that I never normally do, and just be cooler than I ever will be without a crash helmet on. I like that sort of protection.
